On April 15, 2014 (the Ottawa time), the Ottawa International Incubation Center of the ZGC Development Group was officially established. It represents the Group’s another innovative measure, in cooperation with Ottawa Investment Agency, to attract major sci-tech achievements to be industrialized in Beijing through a remote incubation mode.
Ottawa is known as the “Northern Silicon Valley”. In the December of 2012, the ZGC Development Group and Ottawa Investment Agency announced the establishment of the “Ottawa International Incubator Center”, to guide and support the industrialization of Canadian major sci-tech achievements to be industrialized in Beijing, and to help build Zhongguancun into the National Sci-tech Innovation Center with global influence.
Up to date, four Canadian enterprises have settled in the Incubation Center, including Inano Medical, Haiwei Technology, GR Energy and JP Canshielding, covering the sectors of the next generation of IT, new energy, new materials, high-end medical equipment and etc.
In cooperation with the Ottawa Investment Agency, using the Ottawa International Incubation Center as the carrier, the Group, focusing on excavating subversive and original innovative technology projects, has made deep exploration in fields like project excavation, management and services.
Integrating the Angel funds, domestic parallel investment funds, incubation office space, entrepreneurship mentors and expert advisors, the framework system, including project excavation, screening, incubation, investment and “1+1 implement and development in China”, has taken an initial shape and played a good demonstration and reference role for the successful implementation of the Group’s overseas strategy.
